Vomero: the bourgeois cultural gathering immersed in the green with elegant cafes, street food and shopping.

The Vomero neighbourhood is well-known for being the most elegant and chic area in Naples. It is the fundamental and widest hilly area of the city with uplands allowing to enjoy the breathtaking views of the Gulf and the islands. Characterised by buildings in Liberty style, the area includes the wonderful green park Villa Floridiana with the national museum of ceramics Duca di Martina.

The Vomero is also well-known for its famous Carthusian monastery of San Martino, unique example of Baroque architecture and art in Naples. The monastery hosts the national museum of San Martino exposing various international work of art, including José de Ribera, Luca Giordano, Francesco De Mura, and Battistello Caracciolo, works of the Risorgimental period and famous paintings belonging to the artistic school of Posillipo.

In addition to the panoramic, architectural and naturalistic beauties, the true spirit of the Vomero surely lies in shopping and entertainment: the high-end fashion boutiques located in Via Scarlatti, Piazza Vanvitelli and Via Luca Giordano, the variety of cafés and exclusive bars, restaurants, and street food bistros made the neighbourhood the trendiest area in the city.

Popular among young people of all ages, the Vomero is to be considered a cultural magnet. The neighbourhood is also location of one of the most influential theatre in the Campania region and dated back in 1933, the Diana Theatre, which Hotel Cimarosa is a partner for, and an historical cinema from the 1950s, the Arcobaleno.

The hilly neighbourhood is a symbol of excellence for its means of transports.

Mobility is well articulated and connected to the other areas of the city. At only 5 minutes from the historical centre, there are three funicular railways and the first underground line which represents the fundamental axis of metropolitan public means transports.
